C4 weeds, which have higher photosynthetic as well as water –use efficiency , prevail in Aus season .Common upland weeds include:Khudey shama , Chapra, Durba, Ullu, Torpedo grass,Mutha,Bishkataly,Kanta notey, Anguli ghash, Shial leza,Chanchi,Boro dudhia,and Chota dhudia.

The common weeds in lowland rice include:Fulka ghash,Boro chiech,Boro shama, Angta ghash, Chota chiech,Joina, cechra,Keshuti,Kachuri pana,Pani kachu, arail,Kanai nala,Helencha, Topa pana , Fool ciech, panilong and zheel marich.

There are different methods of weed control.

A.Cultural  Control:

1.Good land preparation.

2.Modern and resistant cultivar selection.

3.Planting in appropriate time.

4.Planting in appropriate method.

5.Optimum plant population.

B.Physical control:

1.Hand weeding.

2.Mechanial weeding.

3.Burning.

C.Biological Control:

1.Use of tadpole shrimp.

D.Chemical Control:

There are several weedicide like oxidiazinon, Butachlor, Pretilachlor,Cinmethyline,Anilphos,MCPA, Oxadiarzil etc.
